I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am looking for courture like sewing patterns or even just ones that are more fashionable than the ones I've been finding that I think my grandma used. (Giant pleats on pants...shoulder pads in womens clothes...yuk) I love anything girly soft and feminine so please help me! I love making my own clothes. I get a sense of pride when I'm finished and love being the only one who has it. Anyway, if you know where to find hot new sewing patterns, please please please let me know!

Awsome Tee Shirts
08.25.04 (2:51 pm)   [edit]

Hey everyone. I wanted to share one of my favorite websites EVER! It's got really awsome tee shirts that are designed by people just like you and me...but really good designers. Just go to threadless.com to check them out. If you decide to get one, help me out by entering "Stefanie641" in as the Street Team Referral Code. That way, we can both get really awsome tee shirts! Thanks and enjoy the site!

Here are just a few of the designs from the site.

Crafts

Here's some stuff I've made lately.

I made this at a local bead shop.

This was acctually an accident. My friend Rachel and I bought our friend Amanda the same purse for her birthday. It was a purse with four dancers on it cause she's a dancer. Anyway, to solve the problem we personalized one of the purses by putting our faces over the dancers. She thought it was hilarious and loved it.

This is acctually the book I taught myself to knit from. It's one of those how to books they sometimes have in the checkout at grocery stores. Anyway, I found it at my Grandma's house and taught mysef how to knit.

Here's the first scarf I ever knitted. I didn't know how to keep it from curling up then, so it's more like a tube. Oh well, I think it's cute.

This is my most recent scarf. Still in progress obviously.

Some of my favorite knitting books...

I made this to hold all of my needles. I got the idea from Stitch n' Bitch.

Here's a purse I made the other day. I didn't use a pattern, I just sort of made it. I love the material. It's little sillhouettes of very fashionable ladies.

This is a silkscreen tee shirt I made from a picture of my friend Rachel. Very Andy Warhol, don't you think?

College
08.21.04 (7:16 pm)   [edit]

Well it's about that time I start deciding what I want to do for the rest of my life. It's pretty scary. Luckily I've found the school of my dreams! Columbia College in Chicago. It's amazing. I love that you don't just take classes in your major. So if I major in Graphic Design, I can still take Photography and Fashion Design. Unfortunately, it's a Liberal Arts school so I still have to take science and stuff (BLAH)! But the good part is, their science classes include things like, The Physics of Photography! It doesn't get much better than that. Plus, it's Chicago! I thought I wanted to go to NYC, but I visited and it's just too overwhelming and too far from home. And I thought I wanted to get as far away as possible. Haha. It's such a great city. There are art museums everytime you turn a corner. Plus, the shopping's not bad. Haha.

 Ahh, here's the scariest part!

They don't have dorms, just suites and apartment, and they are really nice too.

I saw this sculpture just before entering the school of my dreams and just thought it was cool.

If you haven't seen it by now, you have to go to jibjab and watch the This Land video. It's great.
